If you want to skip the long lines for brunch at Sunny Point, Early Girl, or Tupelo Honey, an adequate substitute for a hearty brunch is Cafe Azalea.
The Citizen Thymes dropped in for a birthday brunch Saturday. The service was very attentive and the food came out quickly.
I had the Huevos Sabrosos (fried eggs and natural chorizo over Anasazi beans and blue corn tortillas with chimichurri, crema fresca, grape tomatoes and cilantro) with potatoes as a side.
Cafe Azalea uses local cage free eggs in their dishes and the rest of the ingredients in this specific dish were super fresh. The portion size was large and overall the Huevos Sabrosos rocked.
If you don’t want to wait in line at the other popular brunch establishments or you find yourself in East Asheville, you should definitely check Cafe Azalea out.
