The Slice girls will be holding a raffle to benefit their close friend Chenoa Shannon’s son who has Leukemia. From the Facebook event page:
Our benefit raffle for the next Slice of Life Comedy show on 7/11 is close to our heart. Friend and photographer of the AVL comedy scene Chenoa Shannon’s son has Leukemia. As a parent you know how devastating it would be having to see your child in pain. Xander Kai Valentin just turned 2 years old May 2nd. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on September 28, 2012. He is currently in remission, but there are just enough cancerous cells remaining that he continues to go through chemotherapy every few weeks. The treatments can get very difficult, but it’s very rare that he wouldn’t continue to have a smile on his face. It’s one of those smiles that makes everyone fall in love with him instantly and keeps his mother strong. Chenoa is a beautiful person with positive attitude. Slice of Life Comedy is happy help show her family love from our amazing community. We will have fun prizes on the “cool stuff table.” Raffle tickets are $1 and 100% will go to Chenoa and her two boys(older brother is four). Xo
Rogers is an interesting comic because he seems very comfortable going off script, which means you never know where the show is going to go. Joining Rogers on stage will be comedians Tom Peters, Josh Rosenstein, Jessica Tomasin, Justin Thompson, Nick Murphy, Alex Neff, Ryan Folks, Curtis Mcarley, Dana Williams, Myra Simmons, Austin Smith and host comedian Kelly Row.
