Countdown to Laugh Your Asheville Off, Today’s Comedian Jessica Michelle Singleton

37 days left until Asheville’s annual comedy festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off, August 13th to August 17th.   Today’s feature comedian that will be performing at Laugh Your Asheville Off is Jessica Michelle Singleton.   From Singleton’s Bio: Jessica Michelle Singleton performs stand-up comedy all over the country. She is part of Comedy Central’s Fresh Faces  and has been a part of several major comedy festivals including the Women in Comedy, Laughing Skull and Bridgetown Comedy Festivals in 2013. She also writes for several major comedic outlets. Jessica Michelle Singleton has created a unique style of comedy based on true stories and interesting observations, peppered with a tiny bit of neuroses and a slightly distorted sense of reality. She also would like to add that she sometimes refers to herself in third person to help give her a false sense of self-worth. Countdown to Laugh Your Asheville Off, Today’s comedian Vince Carone

40 days left until Asheville’s annual comedy festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off, August 13th to August 17th.   Today’s feature comedian that will be performing at Laugh Your Asheville Off is Vince Carone.   From Carone’s Bio: Performing since 2001, Carone is no stranger to the comedy circuit. Since his early days, Carone has toured the country and shared the stage with funny-man powerhouses such as Pablo Francisco, Dave Attell, Bobby Slayton, John Pinette, Greg Proops, Kathleen Madigan, Jim Gaffigan, Jon Witherspoon, Charlie Murphy, Jamie Kennedy and Tommy Davidson. Years of finding his comedic voice while ranting and complaining on stages across the country culminated in his 2007 debut stand-up DVD “Now Will You Wear a Condom”. His ability to rattle off more material in one show than most could do in a weekend is what keeps the crowd engaged during his verbal assault. Known for his fast-talking, quick-witted, over-the-top rants and a dominating stage presence, Carone refuses to relent until he steps off the stage. The chaotic, cathartic, complaints by Carone are summed up by his own public service announcement: “Better check the Doppler, there’s a Sh*t-storm coming your way!”   Here is a clip of Carone performing:     For tickets to Laugh Your Asheville Off held August 13th through 17th click here.   For more Asheville stand up comedy check out our Asheville Comedy...

Countdown to Laugh Your Asheville Off, Today’s comedian Rahn Hortman

43 days left until Asheville’s annual comedy festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off, August 13th to August 17th.   Today’s feature comedian that will be performing at Laugh Your Asheville Off is Rahn Hortman.   From Hortman’s Bio: Rahn Hortman never thought that one day seasoned veterans of comedy would give him personal praise for his own stage show being “refreshing” and “a departure from the norm”. But fittingly, nothing about Rahn’s journey to the world of stand-up comedy has been normal. Born September 27th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rahn credits his 5th Grade Teacher as the first to nurture his natural urge to entertain. Impressed by Rahn’s good grades, but frustrated by his penchant to distract classmates with his jokes, the comedian-in-training was granted the last fifteen minutes of class to do “his show” as long as he composed himself during the first forty-five! “From there I was hooked”, he says wistfully. Rahn credits the earliest influences to his humor to Bill Cosby and Martin Lawrence. Bill Cosby’s ability to tackle diverse subject matter without uttering a single curse word, and Martin Lawrence’s natural gift of representing the “ordinary guy” combined to form the foundation for Rahn’s vision. What resulted is a unique blend of profanity-free banter, with pointed observations about everyday people that leave no one safe.   Here is a clip of Hortman performing:     For tickets to Laugh Your Asheville Off held August 13th through 17th click here.   For more Asheville stand up comedy check out our Asheville Comedy...
