28 days left until Asheville’s annual comedy festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off, August 13th to August 17th.   Today’s feature comedian that will be performing at Laugh Your Asheville Off is Russell Ehrett.   From Ehrett’s Bio: Russell Ehrett got his start in stand-up in 2001 in the faraway land of Edinburgh, Scotland. While on a college exchange program he decided that since he would probably never see these people again, he should try his hand at comedy. He took the stage and to his surprise the room howled with laughter from beginning to end. Later, Russell discovered that the room was full of drunken Danish tourists who didn’t understand English but just wanted to laugh at something. Unfortunately, this was the perfect start to Russell’s stand-up career. His persona is the frustrated, geeky outsider who justs wants to be understood. And now that he’s performing in comedy clubs across the country and opening for such names as Rob Schneider, Rodney Carrington, Dov Davidoff and Aries Spears, Russell gets to share his unique and twisted worldview to audiences that are hopefully laughing for all the right reasons.
