Asheville stoner confused why Wicked Weed Brewing’s beer lacks marijuana as ingredient

ASHEVILLE- Wicked Weed Brewing opened their doors this past Friday to rave reviews.   But not everyone is sipping Wicked Weed’s hoppy Kool-Aid.   Asheville marijuana enthusiast Tate Linneman finds the lack of marijuana in Wicked Weed Brewing’s Beer irresponsible and misleading.   “Marajuana is in your name dude and you’re not going to put it in the beer you serve?” said Linneman.   “Total buzz killer man. Why would you tease someone like that? I got a bad case of reefer blue balls man. I’m glad I smoked before I checked Wicked Weed out Friday, otherwise I may have just ended it all right then and there man.”   Linneman plans on protesting Wicked Weed Brewing starting next week. Linneman is currently weaving a banner out of hemp that reads ‘No weed here man.’   “People got to be warned about this man,” said Linneman.   “What happens if you and your friends want to watch the Hobbit right? And your friend is like, ‘hey let’s light one up man?’ And you’re like, ‘No let’s just eat at Wicked Weed and get our buzz on with the green beer man.’ Experiencing the Shire not stoned that’s like blasphemy man.”   Linneman’s strict interpretation of the word ‘weed’ may explain why his yard is filled with weeds despite his wife gifting him a Weed Eater and a bottle of Weed-B-Gon for his birthday in May.   “Weed be gone?” Linneman chuckled.   “My wife is so funny.”   Wicked Weed is Asheville’s newest brewery. Wicked Weed is open from 5:00 p.m. to close daily and will begin lunch service after the New...

Brunch at the The Asheville Public a success

Sunday I stopped in The Asheville Public for brunch. The place was not busy so if you want a quick Sunday brunch and avoid the brunch rush downtown, TAP seems like a good alternative.   I ordered the Huevos Rancheros (two poached eggs, refried beans, roasted tomato salsa, guacamole, spiced sour cream in a corn tortilla basket).     What a winner winner chicken dinner! That spiced sour cream is off the chain! The combination of the runny egg and refried beans and being able to soak it up with that tortilla shell, heaven!   I will be stopping by the TAP for more Huevos Rancheros...

Asheville Brioso Fresh Pasta finally comes through

My girlfriend and I use to frequent Brioso a lot when we lived in South Asheville, because it was close and we have the WNC Insider Card, which gives us 10 BOGO deals to use at Brioso.   But while the price always had us coming back, overall every time we left Brioso we left with a headache either over service, waiting time for a table, waiting time on food, or for some reason waiting time on the check.   Monday evening I gave Brioso another chance and I have good news to report.   We were seated immediately, the food was served in a timely fashion, the service was great, and while the check could of came sooner, it was nothing to fuss about. Things must of changed since my last visit in May considering they have a new menu layout.   The great experience left me so happy, because I absolutely love Brioso’s Lasagna (layers of mozzarella, pork and
beef in a creamy Bechamel sauce).     The lasagna is such a great comfort food that leaves you feeling warm and full.   I hope Brioso keeps it up!  ...

Asheville Pizza joints need to forget what their pizza tastes like and roll this out…

Asheville pizza joints can continue to argue who has the best pie in town, but I would much rather them sling it out in a jingle competition. That way we can get something like this:     I bet David’s Pizza is the bomb digity!  ...

Vampire glad his favorite Italian restaurant is now garlic free

ASHEVILLE- Food allergies can be frustrating, especially when the allergy is specific to a key ingredient in your favorite food.   But Count Edward Buble a vampire and resident of Bat Cave, NC can now rest easy that his favorite Italian restaurant is now garlic free.   Asheville restaurant Vinnie’s Italian rolled out a garlic free menu this week for their number one vampire fan, Count Buble.   “I can’t tell you how excited I am now to eat at my favorite restaurant without having to worry about my allergy,” said Count Buble.   “Before I didn’t have a lot of options available to me that I could eat at Vinnie’s without getting sick. Don’t get me wrong I still ate at Vinnie’s because man nothing can stop me from eating that twice baked lasagna, but it’s just good to know now I can enjoy it without feeling like there is a big stake being driven in my heart.”   Count Buble is excited to not only be able to enjoy twice baked lasagna without pain for the first time, but also be able to court potential suitors at Vinnie’s. Before Count Buble was too embarrassed to reveal his condition in front of others.   “I would take a Rolaid with every bite of lasagna to battle the heart burn,” said Count Buble.   “My doctor said that is not very healthy and I said come on doc, what’s it going to do? Kill me? Look at me? But to say the least I couldn’t take that many pills on a date without the girl asking questions. Vinnie’s is perfect for the romance or what I like to call the marinating period, if you know what I’m saying.”   Count Buble enjoyed twice baked lasagna last night at Vinnie’s and finished with Type A Lisa for dessert.   “The dessert was pretty good, she was aged a good 34 years,” said Buble.   “You know what they say blood ages like wine.”   Count Buble hopes other Asheville restaurants follow Vinnie’s lead and offer garlic free options.  Be sure to ask your server the next time at Vinnie’s for your favorite blood sucker Count Buble’s menu, the sucker...
